DIRECTIVE No.219-TTg of April 8, 1997 on intensifying the crime prevention and fight and the maintenance of social order and safety.

The Prime Minister instructs the levels and branches to coordinate with public security forces in general and the People�s Police Force in particular in taking intensified measures for the prevention and fight against crimes, especially serious crimes. The People�s Police Force must act as the core in the fight against corruption, smuggling and take measures to combat serious criminal offenses and criminal gangs; effectively prevent the prostitution, gambling and drug addiction, well carry on Government�s policies on the State management over the social order and safety.- (Summary)
