DIRECTIVE No. 18/2002/CT-TTg of September 5, 2002 on the strict observance of the Party�s decisions on personnel work and law provisions on the retirement of State officials and employees
The Prime Minister directs the ministers, the heads of the ministerial-level agencies and the agencies attached to the Government, the presidents of the provincial/municipal People�s Committees, the chairmen of the managing boards and general directors of Corporations 91 to strictly abide by the Party�s decisions on personnel work, the provisions on the retirements of officials and employees of the Labor Code and the Ordinance on Public Employees, as well as the Government�s Decree No. 71/2000/ND-CP of November 23, 2000 on the prolongation of the working time of officials and employees who have reached the retirement age.
The Directive clearly states: From now on, the ministries, ministerial-level agencies, agencies attached to the Government, the presidents of the provincial/municipal People�s Committees and the heads of State enterprises shall neither appoint nor propose the competent authorities to appoint officials and employees who have passed the prescribed retirement ages or shall reach the retirement age before the end of their working term.- (Summary)
