DECISION No.167-BYT/QD OF FEBRUARY 4, 1997 TO ADD FIVE OCCUPATIONAL DISEASES TO THE LIST OF INSURED OCCUPATIONAL DISEASES

THE MINISTER OF HEALTH

Pursuant to Article 106 of the Labor Code on the issue of the List of occupational diseases;

Pursuant to Decree No. 68-CP of October 11, 1993 of the Government stipulating the functions, tasks and powers of the organizational apparatus of the Ministry of Health;

Proceeding from Official Dispatch No. 334/LDTBXH-BHLD of January 29, 1997 of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs authorizing the Ministry of health to sign a decision to add 5 occupational diseases to the 1997 List of insured occupational diseases;

After obtaining the opinions of the Vietnam Confederation of Labor in Official Dispatch No. 1592-TLD of December 31, 1996;

DECIDES:

Article 1.- To add 5 occupational diseases to the List of insured occupational diseases:

1. The occupational disease resulting from arsenic and arsenic compound poisoning.

2. The occupational disease resulting from nicotine poisoning.

3. The occupational disease resulting from insecticide poisoning.

4. The occupational low blood pressure disease.

5. The occupational chronic bronchitis.

Article 2.- The laborers who on examination are found to have contracted one of the diseases defined in Article 1 of this Decision shall be entitled to the regimes prescribed in the Labor Code and in the documents guiding the implementation thereof.

Article 3.- This Decision takes effect from the date of its signing for issuance.

Article 4.- The Administrative Chief, the Directors of the Department of Hygiene and Epidemiology and other departments of the Ministry of Health, the Heads of the units attached to the Ministry of Health, the Directors of the Health Services of the provinces and the cities directly under the Central Government, the Heads of the medical branch and the Heads of the concerned units shall have to implement this Decision.
