DECREE NoDECREE No. 26/2004/ND-CP of January 15, 2004 defining the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Vietnamese Academy of Social Sciences
The National Center for Social Sciences and Humanities is now renamed the Vietnamese Academy of Social Sciences.
The Academy is a governmental agency functioning to conduct research into basic issues of Vietnamese social sciences; supply scientific grounds for the determination of lines, strategies, plannings and policies on rapid and sustainable development along the socialist orientation; organize the consultancy and postgraduate training in social sciences; and take part in developing the national social science capacity.
This Decision defines the tasks, powers, organizational structure and leadership of the Academy, takes effect 15 days after its publication in the Official Gazette and replaces Decree No. 23/CP of May 22, 1993 on the establishment of the National Center for Social Sciences and Humanities and other previous stipulations contrary to this Decision.- (Summary)
