Decision No.735-TTg of October 4, 1996 of the Prime Minister on the establishment of the Steering Board for Water Resources Development and Rural Construction in the Mekong River Delta.
The Steering Board shall comprise 9 members with Mr. Nguyen Cong Tan, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, as Head; Mr. Nguyen Gioi and Mr. Pham Sy Ky, Vice Ministers of Agriculture and Rural Development, as deputy Heads, and a Vice Minister of Communications and Transport, a Vice Minister of Construction, a Vice Minister of Finance, a Vice Minister of Planning and Investment, a Deputy Governor of the State Bank and the Chairman of the Southern Foodstuff Corporation as members.
The Steering Board shall assume the main responsibility and coordinate with the Ministries, branches and the People’s Committees of the Mekong River Delta provinces in directing the implementation of Decision No.99-TTg of February 9, 1996 of the Prime Minister; inspecting and promoting the planning; conducting the design, survey and construction of the pre-feasibility and feasibility study projects so as to implement Decision No.99-TTg; and taking part in the evaluation of planning, pre-feasibility and feasibility study projects within the ambit of Decision No.99-TTg.- (Summary)
