DIRECTIVE No. 21/2002/CT-TTg of December 12, 2002 on enhancing the work of forest fire prevention and fighting
In order to enhance the work of forest fire prevention and fighting, then minimize the forest fires and consequences thereof, the Prime Minister instructs:
- The presidents of the provincial/municipal People�s Committees to direct the further application of forest fire prevention and fighting measures in their localities under the guideline: "Fire prevention plays the key role"; to detect forest fires soon so as to provide information thereon and organize fire fighting and render timely support.
- The mass media to boost the work of propagation and education so as to raise the communities� awareness about forest fire prevention and fighting.
- The Central Steering Committee for Forest Fire Prevention and Fighting and the specialized State management agencies to inspect and direct localities to organize the deployment of the work of forest fire prevention and fighting by forest owners as well as local administrations of various levels, and to render timely support.
- The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to draw up and implement the project on improving forest fire prevention and fighting capability throughout the country; draw up plans for command coordination and mobilization of forces and equipment to cope with large-scale forest fires.
- The Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Public Security to direct their attached units to coordinate with other units in the respective localities in drawing up plans for forest fire prevention and fighting; to make supplements to their training and rehearsal programs as well as forest fire prevention and fighting plans.- (Summary)
