The Steering Committee for the Program of Action on the execution of the Party Poliburo�s Directive No. 58-CT/TW on boosting the application and development of information technology in the cause of national industrialization and modernization shall be composed of the Minister of Science, Technology and Environment as its head, and representatives of the concerned ministries and branches as its deputy head and members.

The Program�s Steering Committee shall be tasked to:

- Assist the Prime Minister in directing the implementation of Directive No. 58-CT/TW and Decision No. 81/2001/QD-TTg of May 24, 2001 of the Prime Minister approving the Program of Action on the execution of this Directive;

- Guide, inspect and urge the ministries, branches and localities to perform the tasks mentioned in Decision No. 81/2001/QD-TTg;

- Synthesize and evaluate the implementation results, suggest to the Prime Minister necessary measures to ensure the effective attainment of the targets on the application and development of information technology set in the Program of Action on the execution of Directive No. 58-CT/TW.- (Summary)
