DECISION No. 1196/2000/QD-BGTVT of May 15, 2000 stipulating the decrease of inland waterway transport means� tonnage during the flood season
To stipulate the decrease in tonnage of inland waterway transport means operating in inland waterway routes with flood at Alarm level 1 or above (according to the announcement of the General Department of Meteorology and Hydrology) as follows:
- Before loading goods, captains or persons operating the transport means shall have to supervise the situation on hydrological developments throughout their itineraries, if flood at Alarm level 1 or above appears in one of river or canal section on their routes, they must reduce the tonnage of their transport means by 10%.
- In cases where floods appear while the transport means are on route, the captain or means� operators shall not have to reduce the tonnage but, depending on the technical state of such means as well as the actual situations, have to apply measures to ensure that the safe delivery of goods by the means at their destination.
This Decision replaces Decision No, 1773/1999/QD-BGTVT of July 12, 1999 of the Ministry of Communications and Transport.- (Summary)
