RESOLUTION No. 17/2000/NQ-CP of November 6, 2000 on the Government�s regular October 2000 meeting

On October 30 and 31, 2000, the Government held its regular October meeting, discussing and resolving the following issues:

- It heard the Minister of Planning and Investment reporting on the implementation of the Enterprise Law in the first ten months of 2000. It assigned the Ministry of Planning and Investment to prepare contents for the Government to organize a conference to preliminarily review one year of implementing the Enterprise Law;

- It heard the Vietnam State Bank Governor presenting the draft plan on handling outstanding debts and assets of credit institutions";

- It heard the Minister-Chairman of the Government�s Commission for Organization and Personnel, who is also Standing Member of the Government�s Steering Committee for Administrative Reform reporting on the implementation of the National Assembly�s Resolution on administrative reform. It assigned the Government�s Steering Committee for Administrative Reform to quickly draft the plan on administrative reform in 2001, and submit it to the Government for consideration at the end of 2000;

- It heard the General State Inspector reporting on the settlement of citizens� complaints and denunciations in the third quarter of 2000 and the initiative results gained by five inter-branch working missions of the Government;

- It considered the report on socio-economic situation in October and the first ten months of 2000, drafted by the Ministry of Planning and Investment;

- It heard the Minister-Chairman of the National Committee for Population and Family Planning reporting on "Vietnam�s 2001-2010 population strategy".- (Summary)
