Vietnam Legal Aid Fund (VILAF) is attached to the Legal Aid Department of the Ministry of Justice.

The Fund has the legal person status, headquarters in Hanoi, its own seal, and may open accounts at the State Treasury and banks.

The Fund functions to mobilize and receive financial sources contributed and allocated in support of legal aid activities throughout the country.

The Fund has the following tasks and powers:

- To receive financial sources from the State budget;

- To contact, exploit and mobilize domestic and foreign agencies, organizations and individuals to contribute to the Fund;

- To provide financial support for legal aid activities throughout the country;

- To provide information, propagate, exchange experiences and disseminate the Fund’s activities;

- To employ the network of collaborators at central and local levels in order to contribute to creating sources for the Fund and carry out the Fund’s activities;

- To manage the Fund’s financial sources;

- To propose commendation and reward for agencies, organizations and individuals that have recorded achievements in building and developing the Fund.- (Summary)
