The Steering Committee for the action program for implementation of the Politburo�s Directive No. 58-CT/TW on boosting the application and development of information technology in the cause of national industrialization and modernization in the 2001-2005 period shall be composed of its head being Deputy-Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem; two deputy heads being the Minister of Post and Telecommunications and a Vice Minister of Science and Technology; and members being representatives of the concerned ministries and branches.

The Steering Committee is tasked to:

- Direct, guide, inspect and urge the ministries, branches and localities to implement the Politburo�s Directive No. 58-CT/TW and the Prime Minister�s Decision No. 81/2001/QD-TTg of May 24, 2001 approving the action program for implementation of Directive No. 58-CT/TW.

- Evaluate the implementation situation and results, propose mechanisms, policies as well as necessary measures to the Prime Minister to ensure the efficient implementation of the objectives of application and development of information technology in the action program for implementation of Directive No. 58-CT/TW.

The Steering Committee�s assisting office is located at the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications.

This Decision replaces the Prime Minister�s Decision no. 175/2001/QD-TTg of November 9, 2001 establishing the Steering Committee for the action program for implementation of the Politburo�s Directive No. 58-CT/TW on boosting the application and development of information technology to the cause of national industrialization and modernization in the 2001-2005 period.- (Summary)
