THE MINISTRY OF SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND ENVIRONMENT

CIRCULAR No.1076-TT/MTg of August 15, 1997 guiding the elaboration of the annual report on environmental status by the ministries, the ministerial-level agencies, the agencies attached to the Government and the People�s Committees of the provinces and cities directly under the Central Government.

Elaboration of reports on environmental status is one of the tasks in the implementation of the Law on Environmental Protection and also one of the principal contents of the State management over the environmental protection.

The State agencies in charge of environmental management at central and local levels shall, within their functions and tasks, have to periodically elaborate reports on environmental status to submit to the National Assembly, the Government, the delegations of National Assembly deputies of localities, the People�s Councils and the local administrations. For branches and localities, reports on environmental status shall be eleborated annually to serve the environmental protection and management therein in their respective branches and localities and serve as a basis for the eleboration of the national report on environmental status.

The Circular also provides guidances on the contents, method and process of the elaboration of reports.- (Summary)
