In the 2002-2003 school year, the education and training service shall perform the following tasks: To continue consolidating order and discipline; to build a healthy education environment. To expand the education scale on the basis of ensuring training quality and efficiency. To strongly renovate the education contents and methods at all levels and grades. To continue improving examinations and ways of assessing the pupils� and students� study results. To develop pre-school education in all population quarters. To consolidate the fruits of illiteracy eradication and primary education universalization; to step up junior-secondary education universalization. To implement the planning on the network of universities, colleges and secondary professional education schools. To step up education socialization and exercise equality in education. To develop education in regions inhabited by ethnic minority people and areas meeting with special socio-economic difficulties.
