The Government issued this Resolution after its October 2, 2000 meeting, which discussed some strategies and measures for overcoming flood consequences, quickly stabilizing the people�s life and handling newly-arising problems, aiming at fast and sustainable socio-economic development in the Mekong River delta region.
This Resolution sets forth urgent tasks which require the direction by local administrations of various levels; points to the issues to be settled right after the flood water recedes; prescribes a number of strategies and policies for flood-stricken localities and people; and a number of long-term problems to be settled after this flood (on infrastructure and production arrangement).- (Summary)
