DIRECTIVE No. 14/2000/CT-TTg of August 1
st, 2000 on measures to strengthen and raise the operation effectiveness of the Vietnam�s Union of Science and Technique Associations In furtherance of the Politburo�s Directive No. 45-CT/TW of November 11, 1998 on stepping up activities of the Vietnam�s Union of Science and Technique Associations (called the Union of Associations for short), with a view to further bringing into play socio-political role and intellectual potentials of the country�s contingent of scientific and technological intellectuals in the period of national industrialization and modernization, the Prime Minister instructs:
- The Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment and the Ministry of Education and Training to study, elaborate and submit to the Prime Minister for promulgation or to promulgate according to their respective competence, legal documents in order to create conditions for the Union of Associations as well as member associations to perform the functions of providing consultancy, judgement and social expertise of the State�s scientific-technological and socio-economic development guidelines, policies, programs and projects; to take active part in socialization of scientific, technological, education and training activities,...
- The Ministry of Culture and Information to create favorable conditions for the Union of Associations as well as member associations to publish publications for popularization and propagation of the State�s and the Party�s guidelines and policies, introduction of scientific and technological achievements; the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to study and propose forms of coordination with the Union of Associations in carrying out programs for agricultural and rural development and social vice prevention and combat.
- The Ministry of Finance, the Government�s Commission for Organization and Personnel, the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the People�s Committees of the provinces and centrally-run cities to support funding and necessary material and technical bases and create favorable conditions in terms of mechanisms and policies for the operation of the central and local bodies of the Union of Associations.- (Summary)
