DECISION No. 157/2002/QD-TTg OF NOVEMBER 14, 2002 ON THE ESTABLISHMENT OF, AND APPLICATION OF POLICIES TO, CHAN MAY COMMERCIAL-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROMOTION ZONE IN THUA THIEN-HUE PROVINCE

THE PRIME MINISTER

Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government of December 25, 2001;

At the proposals of the Minister of Trade in Report No. 3135/TM-VTM of August 12, 2002 and the president of the People�s Committee of Thua Thien-Hue province in Report No. 1374/TT-UB of June 20, 2002 and the opinions of the concerned ministries and branches,

DECIDES:

Article 1.- To establish Chan May commercial-economic development promotion zone with a total area of around 1,000 ha in Loc Vinh commune, Phu Loc district, Thua Thien-Hue province, which borders on Chan May urban center to the West, on Eastern Chan May cape to the East, on National Highway 1A to the South and, on Chan May gulf to the North.

In Chan May commercial-economic development promotion zone, a 250-ha tax suspension warehouse shall be set up, separately from other functional quarters in this zone.

Article 2.- Chan May commercial-economic development promotion zone shall be entitled to the policies prescribed in the Prime Minister�s Decision No. 53/2001/QD-TTg of April 19, 2001 on policies for border-gate economic zones.

Article 3.- In the course of execution, the People�s Committee of Thua Thien-Hue province shall have to:

- Draw up and organize the implementation of construction planning for Chan May commercial-economic development promotion zone within the scope prescribed in Article 1.

- Closely coordinate with the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Public Security in order to well execute projects related to national defense and security.

- Set the order of priority for investment in the construction of projects and project items for efficient use.

- Annually, work out reports for submission to the Prime Minister; assume the prime responsibility and coordinate with the concerned ministries and branches in assessing the application of the above-said policies and propose the Prime Minister to make necessary adjustment and supplementation thereof.

Article 4.- This Decision takes effect 15 days after its signing.

The ministers, the heads of ministerial-level agencies, the heads of the agencies attached to the Government and the president of the People�s Committee of Thua Thien-Hue province shall have to implement this Decision.
