DECREE No.13/1998/ND-CP of March 2, 1998 on the establishment of a number of communes in Chau Thanh, Tra Cu, Tieu Can, Cau Ngang, Cau Ke and Cang Long districts, Tra Vinh province.

To establish My Chanh commune of Chau Thanh on the basis of a land area of 2,558.3 hectares and a population of 9,495 of Thanh My commune.

To establish Dinh An commune of Tra Cu district on the basis of a land area of 1,696.51 hectares and a population of 6,848 of Dai An commune.

To establish Tan Hung commune of Tieu Can district on the basis of a land area of 1,890.89 hectares and a population of 8,374 of Hung Hoa commune.

To divide My Long commune of Cau Ngang district into two communes: South My Long and North My Long. South My Long commune shall have a land area of 6,548.7 hectares and a population of 6,018. North My Long commune shall have a land area of 6,039.3 hectares and a population of 9,648.

To establish Hoa Tan commune of Cau Ke district on the basis of a land area of 1,261.72 hectares and a population of 5,198 of Hoa An commune; and a land area of 1,657.97 hectares and a population of 4,501 of An Phu Tan commune.

To establish An Truong A of Cang Long district on the basis of a land area of 1,658.3 hectares and a population of 9,134 of An Truong commune.- (Summary)
