On April 26, 1998, the Government held its monthly regular meeting to discuss and adopt the draft decrees detailing the implementation respectively of the Ordinance on Thrift Practice and Wastefulness Combat; and of a number of the Ordinance against Corruption; the draft decree promulgating the Regulation on the promotion of democracy in agencies; and the draft decree on securities and stock market. It assigned the drafting bodies to finalize such draft decrees then submit them to the Prime Minister for signing for promulgation. The Government also adopted the draft report on renaming the Ministry of the Interior as the Ministry of Police which had been submitted to the third session of the Xth National Assembly. - (Summary)
